5 Snacks You Need To Make At Home!

You've been loving the 15 Minute Meals and having those breakfast lunch and dinner options that you can turn to when you don't have that much time is essential for any pro home. But for me, well I'm also a snacker and I think it's very important that we don't undervalue the time in between meals when you have those salty or sweet cravings. What I generally regret doing is turning to the bag of chips or those processed snacks. So, I'm going to be showing you my top five snacks of all time! Those quick and easy munchies that are going to satisfy your sweet and salty craving but they're going to do it in a much more sustainable way because they're all made completely from scratch. Cheese Crackers

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of white cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of almond almond flour
  • 1/4 cup of cassava flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of freshly crackled black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Water*

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees farenheit.
  2. In a food processor, add in your cheeses and pulse until it all broken down and crumbled.
  3. Then add in the flours and seasonings. Pulse to combine.
  4. Slowly stream in water, one tablespoons at a time until it comes together.
  5. Dump your cracker dough onto a parchment paper. Top with another sheet of parchment paper and start to roll them out. Check out how I do it here.
  6. Cut them into square and use a chopstick to punch out the a circle in the center. Place into the oven for 15 minutes.
  7. Take them out after the 15 minutes are up and run the pizza cutter along the already cut out edges. Seperate them into the little crackers they are and bake for another 10 minutes.
  8. Let them cool and store them in an air tight container.

Dairy Free Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 3 bananas
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • handful of walnut
  • handful of chocolate chips 

 

Instructions:

  1. Start by freezing some bananas, rip them into pieces and make sure they don't touch to make the process easier.
  2. After 4 - 24 hours, transfer to a food processor along with coconut milk and blend until super creamy.
  3. Add in the walnuts and choco chips and pulse until broken down and combined.
  4. Scoop into an air tight container and store in the fridge.

Dragon Fruit Roll Ups

Ingredients:

  • 2 packets of frozen drawing fruit
  • 1 cup of frozen mango
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1/2 juice of a lime

 

Instructions:
  1. To a food processor add in the dragon fruit, mango, maple syrup, and lime. Pulse to combine.
  2. Pour out the mixture onto a parchment lined baking tray.
  3. Place into the oven for 4 - 5 hours at 175 degrees Fahrenheit.

Energy Balls

Ingredients:

  • 7-8 dates
  • 1/4 cup of roasted cashews
  • 1/4 cup of almond
  • 1/4 cup of shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 1/2 juice of orange and its zest

 

Instructions:

  1. To a food processor, add in the dates, cashews, almonds, coconut, and chia seeds.
  2. Next, add in the zest and juice of half an orange. Pulse again.
  3. Grab a handful and give it a good squeeze. If it holds together, you are ready to roll them into balls. If it still crumbles add in a little more orange juice.
  4. Store in an air tight container in the fridge.

"Cheesy" Popcorn

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup of nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • Popcorn kernels

 

Instruction:

  1. To a spice grinder, add in the nutritional yeast, sesame seeds, curry powder, and salt.
  2. Next, to a pot add in the corn kernels and oil. Add just enough that both leave a single layer at the bottom of the pan.
  3. Turn the heat to medium and once you start to hear it pop give it a shake every 15-30 seconds just so that nothing burns.
  4. Pour the popcorn into a bowl, and toss in the seasoning mix.
